I was so frantic today that I have to spend my whole day off  at the PI embassy in LA just to have some docs notarized. Well there was no work yesterday because it was the end of Ramadan and  gosh, the only day I am off.. I have to spend it with the consulate.. lots of PINOYS!.    PIck a stub they say.. wow 230. NOW serving 150!!!   F$#@!!!  Of course there was a lunch break!!!

On the brighter side, I had my  lunch at a ramdom Korean Restaurant across the street.

Try something healthy.   At 17 bucks with bottomless kimchi, it's all worth it..  FYI! I only ate a portion of it but had lots of those KIMCHI!!!

I manage to get my docs around mid afternoon.  I was thankful for my iPhone because  time went  by so fast because of  Vegas video poker.

Of course I manage to meet new Pinoy friends  who were also RNs  from Ohio and have their passport renewed.  The hassles of docs being notarized and passport being renewed!  You really need a whole day!!!

For so many months I planned to watch this musicale..  finally it paid off .  Jeff, Ella and me watched the  show today.  Matinee show. Of course it's a Sunday and we still have our reservation at Cafe Sierra Hilton at Universal.    Click the youtube and see what I mean.

So if you care to find me
Look to the western sky!
As someone told me lately:
"Ev'ryone deserves the chance to fly!"
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who'd ground me
Take a message back from me
Tell them how I am
Defying gravity
I'm flying high
Defying gravity
And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz
No Wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down!

I am back.  I have been busy working 2 full time jobs.  I could only get 1 day off a week so life has been hectic.. well, with work of course.  I will be doing this till 1st quarter next year from which I decide what's the next step..

I am looking forward for 2009.  Lots of  planned vacation.  Visit mom in Israel in February...  High school reunion in April in Manila and attend my friend's wedding also in Manila around November.   I really have to work  MORE to pay for the airfare and MORE!!  I guess it would be FUN!

This coming Sunday, I will be going out with my good friends Ella and Jeff.  This time we'll watch WICKED at Pantages at Hollywood Blvd.  And then a buffet dinner at Cafe Sierra over at HIlton at Universal CIty. (YUM at the LOBSTERS!)  All is set. Tickets and Reservations! I just can't wait!

I am planning to spend Christmas EVE with  the clan in Cerritos/Norwalk.. I will be working Christmas day  anyways.

Time flies so fast.  Five years in California.  I already applied for my US Naturalization!  Godspeed!!

I was contemplating.. my time being sabbatical has concluded. I need to  be back on track.  I will be starting with my second job.  I set it straight. I know now my priorities and I have to stick to my goals.  Anyways.. I will still be blogging once in awhile knowing I have internet access at work :)

Last weekend was a blast!!  We headed to  Central California for a weekend out of Los Angeles.  It really paid off!  My room mate and I went there with our bestfriend, Gian's family, Ella and Tito Dodie.  We went to Solvang for sight seeing.  Then onto Eldwayen Ocean Park (sounds Welsh) at PISMO BEACH.  We had our BBQ dinner at Mo's.  We stayed at an inn adjacent to  Oceano.  We had a drink.  They have beer. I have wine... and we woke up late!  Anyways, the highlight of our trip was to  do some ATV driving at the Oceano Dunes!!   It  really hit the spot!  Sarap!!!    Below are our photos taken during this trip.  Of course we will be back.. promise!

2 Nights off.  My precious 2.  After grueling 4 nights of  work, I am blessed with these 2 nights off.  The first one.. I slept all day and all night! 2nd, I watched a movie, Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.  Nothing spectacular.  I have been a mummy fan.  Surely I don't want to  miss watching this movie  the fact I was  in the premiere.. felt like a paparazzi behind those  tons of people and cameras. (Remember I was star gazing  the last time!)

After the movie, I did some retail therapy and then went to the ever reliable Panda Express (cheap knock off!) for dinner.  Something caught my eyes... the take away bag!!!  COOL!!!

I felt ecstatic today because I received a phone call this afternoon from another employer .   I  have a job offer, well,  part time of course.  I just can't wait to start!!

Early this evening, I saw my college senior year  class picture.  MEMORIES!!! Hope we could have our reunion soon!!

Some of them are in my Friendster. Some are missing in action.

By the way  Happy Birthday to My SIS!!!  See you soon....  I miss my nephews,  Noah and Hanns! My other precious 2!!

20 minutes ago  I felt my room moving.. It  felt like vertigo.  The furnitures were physically moving too  including the fridge...

Associated Press wrote:
"Preliminary information from the U.S. Geological Survey estimated the quake at magnitude 5.8, centered 29 miles east-southeast of downtown Los Angeles near Chino Hills in San Bernardino County."

Darn, I should watch for after shocks and worse, tsunamis yikes!!!

Day 4:  It wasn't an easy night.  I have been flip flopping on my bed. Darn, I did not sleep good.  I have to meet my good friend  Charlie..  I am thankful for Jeff accompanying me to pick up Charlie from his hotel at Lawndale.  I was planning to take Charlie either Hollywood or Santa Monica.   We have our brunch at  Zankou chicken at Sepulveda and Santa Monica.  Well,  Charlie is partly vegetarian..  I hoped he liked his falafel. . LOL

We went strolling at  Santa Monica.  He was been there many times.  Well we just visited the Mac Store there.. I am planning to get a new notebook in a month or 2,  resources pending hehehee..

I had a phone call from Angelo that my other colleague is not coming to the party tonight.  It was an oppurtunity for me to take Charlie to the party and get drunk ..   Anyways,  Jeff agreed to take us to Universal and Angelo to take us back home.  I don't want to be drinking and driving.

The party's at the Sheraton Universal.  Luckily Charlie hasn't been to Universal City Walk.   We were dropped off at the City Walk..  Surprisingly, it was the Mummy's premiere.  So we managed to do some stargazing.   We saw Brendan Fraserand Jet Li plus some more of the cast. It was really  a fantastic day!

Brendan Fraser!

Me and  Charlie!!

We went to the party. next door.  It was an 18th birthday party.   Kids and parents.  It was nice and smooth. I enjoyed my chicken and Charlie had his mahi mahi.  He met my people from work.  He was too shy to dance with Patricia but eventually he did.

My work people  with Annie(3rd from right)  the debutante's mom.

I hope Charlie enjoyed his  stay.  He will be back on  August 31st.   Charlie is a Philippine Airlines international flight crew.  He's my grade school and high school classmate. A fellow Josephian.

Blogging and journal writing were not my cup of tea.  I am a nurse. I am already worn out when I get home.  Tired.  Always busy. It is just summer. I have time. Of course you have time . You just quit your second job.  Suprisingly, I do enjoy this. Believe me. I do.

I do have 7 days, er nights off.  Knowing time is gold, I want to be very productive.  Well I will try...

Day 1.   I slept very well. I really did. I worked 5 - 12 hours night shift sin a row. I really need to recover.  The last day was hard because I have to take a relative to the airport and I barely slept.  I survived with 2 small cans of red bulls  and a can of diet coke. Tough.  Recently ,caffeine is a no-no for me!

Day 2 .  I did go to the gym after a very long time.  Some puffing and pauses.  Well I have  the aches but I feel great.
I rewarded my self by watching Mamma Mia.  $8 movie $11 soda and popcorn! I enjoyed  the movie.  Somehow it met my expectations.  I watched the musical twice:  both London and  Las Vegas productions.

Day 3.  I woke up early.  I can't sleep. My  body is adjusting.  I ended up watching Dark Knight $ $7.50 and hotdog and diet soda (can't track anymore) UA Marina 0930H.  It was so good!!  I really loved Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker.   The movie was quite long... I went home and  had a shower. I  am supposed to go swimming in our Fitness Center but I have to drive to Los Angeles on convoy with my room mate.  Something is wrong with his Mini Cooper and it has to be serviced.  We anticipated that  his car would stay  there like for the next 2-3 days.  I don't mind him borrowing my car for the next 3 days. I am sabbatical.   I HAVE THE GIFT OF TIME!    We went to Seafood City in Vermont St.  Our first time there.  We could not help it  if we compare the store with the other locations.  To cut the story short, we don't feel like coming back...

I  am thinking about  my   TOMORROW.   Busy day I believe.  My grade school and high school classmate, Charlie will be in town.  He is a PAL flight attendant.  I promised to take him around LA when he touch base here  in LA.  Dilemma:   I  have a  party tomorrow night. My colleague's daughter will have her 18th birthday at the Sheraton Universal.  I only RSVP'd for myself only.  Oh well.. let see how it goes.....
